Conchúr White is one of Northern Ireland’s finest exports, delivering his second EP, Dreamers, this summer. ‘Vocation Vacation’ is the laid-back lead single. “It’s part commentary of influencer culture and the disingenuous image we present,” he explains. “It’s also about getting older and feeling insecure about who you are and what you have to offer.” This depth of meaning is mirrored by the depth of textures and layers of bold instrumentals. He doesn’t shy away from introducing a minimalistic organ loop, a twinkling shaker rhythm and a call-and-response guitar-piano countermelody – and they all work.
